The Big One!
Hand crafted in Yorkshire by Rustic Wooden Furniture, this Big Canadian Style chair is thoughtfully designed and built to last.
Using far thicker timber than the sizes found in the standard Adirondack or Muskoka chair this chair is specifically intended for use by the more full bodied user.
Tried and tested by a 150kg man the finding was “comfortable and safe feeling”. None of the trepidation felt when sitting on those flimsy imported chairs commonly available at low cost but unable to hold the average adult. Cheap chairs just make expensive firewood!
The seat is nicely contoured to provide comfort where it counts and likewise the back is gently curved to match your body shape. The arms are flat and wide as in the traditional and original style and easily capable of holding your plate, drink or book. Handy at barbecue time!
The dimensions of this chair are as follows;-
Leg and side thickness – 42mm
Back and seat slat thickness – 23mm
Arm thickness – 35mm
Seat size – 600mm x 500mm
Seat back height – 870mm
The sides and legs are made using timber treated with a Vac system timber preserver meaning the parts in contact with the ground will retain their integrity.
Normally our chairs are sold unfinished (bare wood) to allow buyers to customise them to their own taste. (in Canada they even have chair painting competitions!)
The chair will be partially assembled for delivery with only a few simple operations required to complete it. Clear illustrated instructions are provided along with fixings.
This is a heavy item to ship so we recommend collection in person from the Rustic Wooden Furniture workshop, although we are willing to meet you or deliver to you for a fair reimbursement of petrol cost. Alternatively we can work with you to arrange a courier at buyers expense.
